Hump-backed whale back in Dutch waters
Thursday 22 November 2007
A young hump-backed whale reappeared in Dutch waters close to IJmuiden last week, the Volkskrant reported on Thursday.
In May, the whale, recognisable by its distinctive scar pattern, spent two weeks hunting herring and sprats in the area between Den Helder and Texel.
Five hump-backed whales have been spotted in the North Sea since 2003 after a 250-year absence.
