Dutch won't eat human flesh

Monday 29 October 2007

Most Dutch would rather starve than eat human flesh, according to research carried out for entertainment software company Electronic Arts.

Of the 500 respondents, 65% would refuse cannabalism if a plane crash put them on a desert island.

As for company on the island, 27.1% wanted Pamela Anderson and 26.7% James Ford - Sawyer from the tv series Lost.

A knife is considered essential by 71.4% of respondents, while nearly 17% chose a mobile phone.

They'd eat frincandellen - a snack bar monstrosity that might once have looked at an animal - but would prefer to starve than eat a human? I think I would want to live.

Yeah, frickin 'frikandel' and 'zout drop' but not Soylent Green? Who are they kidding.

It's easy to have all high principles when you're being interviewed by EA.

A few weeks in and the Dutch would be eating each other quicker than you can say "andijviestamppot met spekjes."

You really have to wonder what the survey audience was thinking.

The 71% who want a knife are clearly prepared for cannibalism if it comes to the worst, but 17% who want a mobile phone -- are they expecting to call for pizza delivery?
