Ex-Muslim group wants religious freedom

The committee which supports ex-Muslims has sent around 50 politicians, journalists and writers a letter asking them to sign a declaration on religious freedom.

The committee was set up by the controversial Labour councillor Ehsan Jami and will be officially launched in September when it will publish the names of the signatories, reports ANP news service.
Jami is under police protection following an attack and alleged death threats. The attack prompted MP Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-immigration PVV party, to call for a ban on the Koran in the Netherlands.
The issue has dominated the news for the last 10 days.
