EU backs three leading Dutch scientists

Three Dutch scientists have been award €1.2m each by the European scientific organisation ESF to allow them to focus on pure research.


Jereon Cornelissen (Radboud University), Oscar Gelderblom (Utrecht) and Nynke Dekker, (Delft University of Technology) are part of a group of 20 scientists to get EU funding and are considered to be potential world leaders in their field.
The Dutch association for scientific research said that 15 of the 95 awards made over the past four years have gone to Dutch scientists, putting the Netherlands in joint second place with Germany. France has won the most awards.
