Eindhoven airport moves more passengers

Passenger numbers at Eindhoven Airport in the first half year were 40% up on the same 2006 period. The increase comes wholly from cheap charter flights, the airport said

The airport said that passenger volume on regular flights has dropped considerably in the first six months of the year. In total 709,931 passengers used Eindhoven airport.

The biggest Dutch regional airport wants to reach 2.5 million travellers in 2011.

In May, budget airline Ryanair said it would not make Eindhoven its third European hub because of noise restrictions.
