Confidential documents about queen Beatrix and the royal family, including preliminary dates for state visits, have been found dumped in a skip outside the parliamentary complex in The Hague, according to tv current affairs show Nova.

Nova, which has handed the papers over to the state information service (RVD), says they included memos, minutes of meetings and telephone numbers as well as the details of 10 state visits up to 2010.
The papers originated from the Kabinet van de Koningin – a committee which liaises between the queen and ministers.
A spokesman for the RVD said it was highly regrettable the papers had been dumped and the Kabinet would take steps to make sure something like this never happened again.
But he said plans for state visits by the queen did not guarantee she would stay in office until 2010. Such visits were organised for the head of state, which could be the queen or her successor, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile MPs have asked prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende to investigate how the papers came to be dumped and if the find had impliications for the queen’s security. Everyone who works for the Kabinet has to be screened by the security services.
