Bank of Scotland joins Zuidas auction

Bank of Scotland, Schiphol airport and civil service pension fund ABP have all been given the green light to join the bidding to develop the Zuidas business district around the Amsterdam A10 ring road.

ABN Amro, local authority bank BNG, Fortis, ING Real Estate and Rabobank have already been placed on the bidding list. The auction is due to take place at the end of this year.
The Zuidas plan involves the creation of a business district with 60 high-rise buildings with the aim of attracting international companies to the capital. The addition of Bank of Scotland to the bidding process is being seen as an important step towards achieving this ambition.
Private companies will be able to bid for 60% of the shares in the Zuidas project, with both Amsterdam city council and the state taking 20%.
