AH supermarket supremo steps down

Anders Moberg, CEO of supermarket concern Ahold which operates the Albert Heijn stores, is stepping down on July 1, the company announced on Friday morning.

In a statement Ahold said Mohberg is leaving the company to ‘pursue other career opportunities’. The decision was made ‘in consultation with the supervisory board which also agrees that the time is right for a change of leadership at Ahold now that the company is moving into the next stage of its development’.
Ahold’s financial director John Rishton is taking over leadership of the firm until a new CEO is named later this year.
