Supermarket sales rise in 2006

Dutch supermarkets booked record turnover of €27.2bn in 2006, an increase of 3.9% on 2005, says retail research group GfK. ‘The supermarket price wars would seem to be at an end,’ says GfK spokesman Joop Holla. Supermarket turnover fell in both 2005 and 2004.
