One-third of mosques have no imam

Approximately 180 of the Netherlands' 450 mosques are without an imam says Mohamed Ousalah, Deputy Chairman of the Dutch Imam Association, in the Telegraaf. Ousalah said imams were leaving the Netherlands because they no longer felt welcome and were being too readily identified with extremism.

He warned that illegal and unqualified imams were increasingly stepping in to fill the gaps.
