Stem cell clinic shut down

A Rotterdam clinic specialising in using stem cells to treat patients has been closed down by health inspectors because of uncertainty over the origin and safety of the stem cells being used.

On Friday, a British woman suffered a violent allergic reaction to her treatment and had to be hospitalised. Stem cell therapy is still experimental and is not covered by health insurance.
