Holland leads Europe on part-time jobs

Almost half of the Dutch working population work less than 35 hours a week – the highest percentage in Europe, according to new figures from the national statistics office CBS.


In the EU, as a whole, 18% of people work less than 35 hours a week. Dutch women are the leading part-time workers, with 75% having a working week of less than 35 hours. In Europe, as a whole, the figures is 33%. Dutch men were the most likely in the EU to be in paid employment: around 80% had a job, as did 66% of Dutch women.
