Dutch out of hockey World Cup

Holland was put out of the hockey World Cup in Germany on Wednesday night after poule leaders Germany and South Korea played to a goalless draw.

With a draw enough to see both teams through and knock out Holland, who were favourites, neither South Korea or Germany seemed too eager to take risks during the 70 minute match. Not only were there no goals, but no penalty corners were awarded either, to the jeers of the 10,000 strong crowd.
The two teams join Australia and Spain in the knockout rounds.
