HHNK regional water board

The HHNK regional water board purifies wastewater and ensures that the
over 1 million people living in the northwest of the Netherlands have
access to clean water. It also maintains roads and bridges in rural
areas and provides crisis management services in the region. The water
board also supports surrounding towns and villages in managing risks
related to rising sea levels and changing weather conditions in areas
situated below sea level. Additionally, HHNK monitors over 870 miles
(1.400 km) of coastline therewith contributing to flood prevention.

Efficiency in communication and management

The secure, containerized MobileIron environment is centralized in the
organization. It ensures that all HHNK employees have safe and easy
access to information and allows field staff to use secure apps on the
road. For example, employees use a perspective app to submit maintenance
requests based on situational snapshots of problems, such as potholes.
Office staff also use a meeting app to take notes during meetings to
share with their colleagues later. Finally, teams can safely edit and
share email documents and files using MobileIron’s Docs@Work. The new
digital way of work has been integrated into the workplace so
effectively that HHNK is seeing a well-marked decrease in paper
documentation.

The IT department at HHNK is responsible for management of the
MobileIron environment and the iOS and Android enterprise devices used
by the HHNK staff. The ease of management and the native support for
multiple operating systems were critical success factors in completing
the digital transformation.

“MobileIron is ideal for us. Its multi-OS platform supports all the
implementation technologies we use to configure devices, including the
Apple Device Management Program (DEP), Android Enterprise, and Samsung
Knox,” said Bas Wassink, application manager at HHNK. “This allows us to
offer our employees a choice, while still ensuring that all the data on
the selected device is fully and easily secured. By using MobileIron, we
have significantly improved efficiency within a short timeframe and have
raised employee satisfaction. We were also able to meet our
sustainability goals.”

“We are proud to support the security of an organization that fulfills
such an important task in the Netherlands. It is fascinating to see how
HHNK has achieved such a huge transformation in a short time, with the
help of many of our solutions,” said Hendrik Van De Velde, Benelux
managing director at MobileIron. “HHNK offers its employees various
choices and user convenience, while simultaneously making the most of
the available implementation and management technologies. This makes
HHNK a classic example of a company that has embraced the modern
approach to work.”
