Weather forecasters say there is a sunny Whitsun weekend ahead with plenty of clear skies and warmer temperatures than this week.

Saturday is likely to have the best of the sunshine, with temperatures reaching up to 20° inland and little cloud during the day. It will, however, be somewhat cooler on the Wadden Sea islands and at the coast.

Sunday will also be warm but with more cloud, while on Monday the temperature will be no higher than 18°. There will be little change over the rest of the week, but it will become warmer towards the weekend, the KNMI weather bureau said.

The KNMI’s long-term forecast says there is 70% to 80% chance of more of the same mix of sunshine and cloud going well into June.
