Dutch website IamExpat, which has been providing information and tips for the international community in the Netherlands since 2009, has launched a new operation in Switzerland.

The Swiss website is the second for the company, IamExpat Media, outside its home base. The German website was launched in April 2019 and has had around four million unique visitors over the past 12 months.

‘There are so many different reasons internationals from all over the world live and work there, so launching IamExpat.ch felt like a natural next step,’ said co-founder Sergios Charalampos.

‘IamExpat Media is founded and run by expats, so we know that the nature of the issues expats face are the similar. But the ways these problems can be solved differ – sometimes dramatically – from country to country,’ says Charalampos.

‘So, we are following the same formula we use for our other sites in the Netherlands and Germany but adjusted to the needs of the local expat community.’

Further expansion may be on the cards in the future. ‘Once we feel that our platform in one country is on the right path and has a significant impact on the life of the expats there, then we start evaluating other destinations,’ Charalampos said. ‘We go for quality over quantity.’
