Prosus CEO Bob van Dijk took home €15m in compensation last year, making him the highest-paid chief executive in the country.

Van Dijk’s salary is 203.5 times that of the average employee of his company, the Volkskrant said in its annual review of top salaries on Monday. The chief of the global investment group had a much better year in 2019, when his pay package was worth €38.6m.

Prosus is a subsidiary of the South African multinational Naspers and is one of the largest technology investors in the world. It has been listed in Amsterdam since September 2019 and is a large shareholder in China’s Tencent.

The 48-year-old previously worked for eBay and McKinsey & Company and holds a master’s degree in econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Van Dijk edged out Nancy McKinstry, the CEO of information services company Wolters Kluwer, whose 2020 package was worth €12.95m
