Police in Roermond are investigating how a 10-year-old boy was reportedly able to bring 30 bullets to school and hand them out to his classmates during a talk he was giving about weapons, local broadcaster 1Limburg said on Tuesday.

The school reported the incident to the police, who are now trying to establish what sort of bullets they are and where they come from.

‘They are real bullets,’ a police spokesman told 1Limburg.  ‘The pupil is very shocked. He was handing them round with good intentions.’

The broadcaster said the school was the Synergieschool Sint Alfonsus in Roermond which has pupils in both the regular education system and with special needs.
