Blogwatching: You are not ready for the real Dutch coronavirus facts

Amanda van Mulligen is British born but calls the Netherlands home. On her blog Turning Dutch, she writes about all aspects of life in the Netherlands. In her latest post, she takes a satirical look at the state of Covid-19 in the Netherlands.

Last week we found a coronavirus flyer in our mailbox. The flyer contains Dutch coronavirus ‘facts’ and counterarguments for measures taken against the spread of the virus. It looks like the viruswaarheid movement has found itself some followers around these parts. However, it remains an anonymous flyer, simply stating it is a ‘concerned citizens’ initiative. It gave me an idea. How ready are you for the truth about the Dutch coronavirus?

The Coronavirus Flyer Content
The viruswaarheid group is all over the news at the moment. There are regular demonstrations and a huge amount of disinformation on social media outlets. We have also had our share of 5G mast burning in the Netherlands. And if this stupidity virus can infect such a nuchter volk, there really is no hope for the rest of the world.

Here are some of the claims on the flyer put in our mailbox (I hasten to add even with a yes/no sticker on it):

  • the virus can be treated with medicines and supplements, but instead a vaccine will be forced upon us
  • the coronavirus is not dangerous for children but people are making them disinfect their hands in school
  • lockdown weakens our resistance so we are more susceptible to other viruses
  • face masks are bad for our health
  • the media is manipulating statistics and causing unnecessary fear
  • the 1.5 metre society is inhuman and damaging

Time for the real Dutch coronavirus

As I said, this flyer gave me an idea. I have done some investigating (I haven’t).

It is time to share my Dutch coronavirus ‘facts’ with you. (It really isn’t).

Hold onto your hats, because the truth will blow your mind.

Are you ready to be educated?

The actual truth about coronavirus

For the latest news, measures and Dutch coronavirus facts head to the RIVM website. It’s the best we’ve got at the moment…….
