The Netherlands to support nuclear inspections in Iran

The Netherlands will contribute €300,000 to the nuclear inspections planned in Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The IAEA needs €5.5bn to ensure it has enough manpower for the inspections into Iran’s nuclear reactions and uranium enrichment programme, and has asked member countries for a voluntary contribution.

Foreign affairs minister Frans Timmermans says it is important for the Netherlands to contribute to the inspection programme, Nos television reports.

Tuesday sees the start of a second round of negotiations between six major powers and Iran on outstanding issues in the implementation of the nuclear deal agreed by the two sides in November.
