Putin visits Dutch skaters’ celebration

Russian president Vladimir Putin paid a lightning visit to the Holland Heineken House, where Dutch Winter Olympic fans were celebrating Ireen Wüst’s gold medal on Sunday evening.

Wüst, who won gold in the 3,000m earlier in the day, left the podium to shake Putin’s hand and was given a hug, Dutch media report.

Putin also managed a few words in English as he was leaving, saying the Dutch were good people and had good results.
