Delta Lloyd shrinks losses

Insurance group Delta Lloyd on Wednesday announced a decrease in net loss to €103m in the first half, down from €942m in the year-earlier period.

The operational result was €209m compared with €220 a year earlier. Operating expenses decreased to €378m, which is ahead of target the company says.

Group solvency increased to 184%.

‘Our commercial and operational performance was satisfactory given challenging markets,’ CEO Niek Hoek said in a statement.
