Postal strike settled at PostNL

The strike at PostNL by freelance delivery workers was settled on Friday, the Nos reports.

Freelance workers have been on strike since Monday over reductions in the tariff paid for each parcel delivered.

Talks between the two parties and the FNV Bondgenoten union, which supported the strikers, reached agreement on a €1,000 payment per week for an average 145 to 155 stops to drop off parcels during a delivery run.

In addition, a commission will be set up consisting of a freelancer, three PostNL staff and an independent chairman. Postal workers will be able to take any grievances over working conditions to the commission.

PostNL said there will be no repercussions for the strikers.
