Technology group Philips announced on Friday its healthcare division has signed a major contract with a US hospital.

The alliance, worth $300m over 15 years, is for the supply of equipment and services to the Georgia Regents Medical Center in Georgia. As well as medical systems, Philips will also supply lighting and consumer products.

The deal is a first-of-its-kind delivery model in the US and the largest of its kind for Philips. It is designed to create an increasingly patient-orientated approach to healthcare.

‘By collaborating with Philips, we are bringing all the stakeholders together at the same table to better assess and plan healthcare for tomorrow,’ said David S Hefner, CEO of Georgia Regents Medical Center.
