€170,000 for seven weeks work

A former manager at a home care organisation was paid €170,000 for seven weeks work, according to press reports based on the company’s annual report.

Hanneke Houtzagers began working for Zuidzorg in Veldhoven on September 1 2012, but left on October 22 citing differences of opinion about what her job entailed.

Zuidzorg paid her €18,000 in salary for the seven weeks and a redundancy payment of €152,000. The rest was made up of salary until July 1 2013 with Houtzagers remaining on the pay roll until that date.

A spokesman told the press Houtzagers is still receiving her salary for loss of income. ‘She gave up a permanent job when she came to work for us,’ he said.

Zuidzorg is also paying for an interim manager.
