Architects feel the pain of the building sector crisis

The crisis in the construction sector is having a dramatic effect on architectural and engineering companies, with more than 200 going bankrupt in 2012.

Turnover at architectural practices fell by 22% compared with the year-earlier period, according to figures from the central statistics office CBS.

Income has been falling since 2009 but reached a low point in the last quarter. It is now 50% lower than at the end of 2008, the year the financial crisis began.
