Salary difference between men and women shrinks

The difference in salaries between men and women in the Netherlands has declined again, according to the Global Gender Gap Index put together by the World Economic Forum.

The Netherlands has now climbed from 15th to 11th place in the ranking with more than 76% of the pay gap closed.
In addition, progress has been made in the Netherlands in terms of labour market participation, education and performance, the report said. An improvement in the number of women in ministerial positions had also played a role.
The list is topped by Iceland, followed by Finland, Norway and Sweden.
