No new prosecutors for Wilders’ inciting hatred trial

The public prosecution department does not have to appoint new lawyers to lead the prosecution of Geert Wilders on inciting hatred and discrimination charges, a court in The Hague ruled on Friday.

A number of organisations and individuals had asked for new prosecutors after the previous ones called for all charges against Wilders to be dismissed.
The trial collapsed last month after a special panel ordered the judges to be replaced because of a number of irregularities.
No date has yet been set for the trial to resume.
The public prosecution department had opposed taking legal action against Wilders but was forced to go ahead by the appeal court in January 2009.
