Trust in politicians slumps to all-time low

Only 12% of the Dutch still have faith in their elected politicians, according to a Reader’s Digest survey of the most trusted professions.

And 56% say they have less faith in the government than they did five years ago, the survey found.
The most trusted jobs are done by doctors, firemen and airline pilots, with at least 90% support.
‘The government does not deliver what the people want,’ trend watcher Adjiedj Bakas tells the Telegraaf. ‘We are dealing with a structural problem, but there are no structural solutions, not from the Netherlands and not from Europe. That is leading to mistrust of the Dutch cabinet and the EU.’
