Witnesses to violent incidents or attacks on emergency service workers should take photos with their mobile phone, home affairs minister Guusje ter Horst is reported as suggesting on Tuesday.

Research shows between 20% and 40% of the population will witness a violent incident at some point, news agency ANP reports.
The minister was speaking during a debate about attacks on public sector workers, including ambulance personnel and civil servants. MPs called on employers to do more to protect staff.
