Theatre director quits over ‘made up’ cv

The director of Nijmegen’s city theatre has resigned after a local newspaper revealed most of his employment history appears to have been invented.

Albert Krielen claims to have been a KLM pilot, worked for Philips in Japan, been a Labour council official in Rotterdam and played top level volleyball in his youth.
But, says the Gelderlander newspaper, there is no evidence he actually did any of these things.
Tielen has been head of the local theatre since 2002. He was put forward for the job by headhunting group GITP.
