AZ takes another step towards premier title
Alkmaar football club AZ took another step towards clinching the premier league title this weekend with a 1-0 win over NAC Breda.
FC Twente clung on to second place with a 4-2 victory over Roda JC. Amsterdam’s Ajax trounced Willem II 7-0 to remain in third place, just one point behind Twente.
With four matches still to go, AZ is 11 points clear at the top of the league. A point dropped by either Twente or Ajax would give the Alkmaar club its second ever league title.
AZ take on Arnhem’s Vitesse next weekend.
