Air quality target deadline delayed by EU
The European Commission has given the Netherlands until 2015 to reduce traffic-related pollution following a government request for a delay, Nos tv reports on Tuesday.
According to EU calculations, air quality in the Netherlands does not meet official targets and up to 3,000 people die prematurely because of the pollution, Nos says.
