Ahold to reorganise in Czech Republic

Supermarket group Ahold is to reorganise its operations in the Czech Republic, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Tuesday.

The paper says its two supermarket chains – Albert and Hypernova – are to be merged and 21 poorly-performing branches will be divested. In total, Ahold has some 300 outlets in the Czech Republic.
But there are no plans to divest the Czech operations, a spokesman told the paper.
