1% of population have no health cover

A total of 171,000 people – or just 1% of the population – have no health insurance, the national statistics office CBS said on Wednesday.


Around 50% of those without insurance are in their 20s and 30s. Immigrants are less likely to have health insurance than the native Dutch, as are people from new EU countries such as Bulgaria, Romania and Poland, the CBS said.
