Step up financial supervision, says PM

The credibility of the G20 summit in London next month depends on the group fulfilling commitments made in Washington last November, Dutch prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende and German chancellor Angela Merkel said in a newspaper article on Wednesday.


This means that ‘all financial markets, products and participants, without exception and regardless of where they are based, are subject to appropriate supervision or regulation,’ the leaders wrote in the article, reports Reuters news agency.
