Bosnian Serbs file complaint against Dutch

Bosnian Serbs have filed a complaint against the Dutch state and the United Nations at The Hague district court, claiming that Dutch soldiers failed in their duty to protect them in the UN enclave of Srebenica during the 1992-1995 war.

The case is being brought by an association called the Srebenica Historial Project which is based in The Hague, report several international news agencies on Tuesday.
The organisation claims Dutch peace-keepers failed to prevent Bosnian Muslims from raiding Serb villages around Srebrenica and that as a result around 3,500 Serbs died.
Later around 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were massacred at Srebenica when the ‘safe haven’ was raided by Serb forces.
The Dutch foreign affairs ministry said on Tuesday evening that it could not comment on a complaint which could have been filed against the state, reports the Dutch news agency ANP. ‘We do not yet know what the content of the compliant is,’ a spokesman told ANP.
