Third youth sought for fatal stabbing

The police are looking for a third young man in connection with the fatal stabbing of an elderly shopkeeper in a late-night store in Amstelveen earlier this month. Two 16-year-old teenagers are already in custody in connection with the murder.

On Tuesday it emerged that one of the suspects had absconded while on a short period of leave from a juvenile institute where he had been placed for behavioural problems.
Youth minister Andre Rouvoet has launched investigation into the incident.
The opposition liberal VVD party has called for the suspects to be tried in an adult court because of the seriousness of the crime.
