Phone firm KPN buys Tele2 Belgium

Dutch telecoms group KPN has bought Tele2/Versatel Belgium from the Versatel group for €95m, Versatel said on Monday.

KPN said last week it was interested in the Belgian company, which turned over €162m last year. KPN is already active in Belgium with BASE, a mobile telephone operator which has 22% of the market.
BASE is focused on the Flemish market while Tele2’s operations are largely in French-speaking Belgium, ANP reported.
