Speciality food group Numico booked record sales of €730m in the second quarter this year, a 15% increase on the year-earlier period, the company said on Friday.

In particular, sales of baby food in Asia and the Pacific region were up. Clinical food sales rose in all regions. Operating profit was up nearly 18% at €142m.
Chairman Jan Bennink said he was proud of the figures, which were proof of the ‘strength of Numico’s activities and the alertness of our people’. The company maintained its earlier forecast of full year autonomous sales rising between 10% and 12%.
