More people work overtime says survey

Working overtime on a structural basis has increased considerably in Holland over the past year, according to a survey published by temp agency Randstad on Tuesday.

The Work Monitor concluded that more than 50% of employees work an average of seven hours extra a week on a regular basis, compared to around 33% last year.
Of those who work overtime, 16% said that they are not compensated for extra hours.
The survey also indicated that the positive economic climate means employees are less afraid of losing their jobs. Only 3% of those questioned said they were afraid of being made redundant.
