Employers should be given more say in training courses for the unemployed, Arend van Wijngaarden, chairman of the CNV trade union for building workers, told ANP on Tuesday.

‘People can only start working when they have been trained for a particular job and it is employers who know what sort of people they are looking for,’ he says.
Van Wijngaarden says employers often complain they cannot find the right people to fill vacancies, while there are a lot of unemployed in the Netherlands.
