Beatrix to attend World Orchestra for Peace
Queen Beatrix is to attend the concert of the World Orchestra for Peace which will perform for the first time in the Netherlands on September 8.
The orchestra, which was set up by Sir Georg Solti to mark the 50th anniversary of the United Nations, consists of musicians from 40 countries.
Since the death of Solti in 1997, the orchestra has been led by Valery Gergiev, chief conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
