Printer and photocopier maker Océ booked a 60% increase in second quarter operating profit, the company said on Tuesday. Traditionally the first of the big bourse-listed firms to report its Q2 earnings, Océ said operating profit rose from €18m to almost €29m.

Turnover was down marginally at €777.1m while net earnings were up around 50% at €18.3m.
Chairman Rokus van Iperen said the profit increase was due to the change in strategy which Océ announced at the beginning of this year. By supplying its competitors with print systems, sales were up 9%, he said.
