Small firms want cash for tax office blunder

Small firm lobby group MKB-Nederland wants the government to agree to €500 compensation per company for the extra work caused by software problems at the tax office.


Companies have been forced to re-submit employee details, which has delayed the reimbursement of subsidies and re-payment of premiums.
Social affairs minister Piet Hein Donner and finance secretary Jan Kees de Jager have acknowledged the problem, which stems from the introduction of the so-called Walvis law last year, an effort to simplify the relationship between companies and the tax authorities
