Welfare claims down Q3
The number of people claiming welfare (bijstand) has fallen by almost 11,000 in the third quarter of this year, the biggest drop since 1999, says national statistics office CBS.
Some 311,000 people are still claiming welfare benefits, of whom 45% are aged between 45 and 65.
