Minister says no crime was committed

Defence Minister Henk Kamp confirmed this afternoon that Dutch military intelligence officers had been involved in the heavy-handed interogation of prisoners in Iraq. But an investigation by military police at the time said no crimes had been committed, NOS Radio quoted the minister as saying.

The 15 Iraqis had been forced to listen to high-pitched tones to prevent communication between prisoners, NOS Radio reported the minister as saying. The ski goggles were to stop them seeing their interogators.
