Corus gives CSN extra time

Anglo-Dutch steel group Corus is to give Brazilian steel conglomerate CSN an extra two weeks to look at its books by postponing an extraordinary shareholders meeting until December 20.

CSN made a preliminary offer of 475 pence a share for Corus, pending the outcome of a due diligence survey. That offer was better than the friendly 455 pence deal offered by India’s Tata in October.
